HEADLIGHT PROTECTORS, COVERS, AND LAMP GUARDS FOR THE 2007-2023 70 SERIES

SIXTEEN YEARS OF VDJ V8 HOUSINGS COVERED

The VDJ V8 era ran from 2007 through to 2023, and across those sixteen years the rectangular composite headlight housing stayed largely unchanged. The factory housing is reasonably tough, but it is still acrylic and a direct stone strike at highway speed cracks the lens, lets dust into the reflector, and creates a moisture problem that follows the vehicle for the rest of its life. A pair of headlight protectors (sometimes called headlight covers, lamp covers, or headlight guards) sits in front of the lens and absorbs the impact before it reaches the housing. On any 70 that spends time on unsealed roads or behind tippers, this is one of the cheapest insurance pieces you can fit.

THICK ACRYLIC, UV STABILISED, FACTORY-LOOK FIT

Each headlight cover is moulded from thick UV-stabilised acrylic that absorbs stone impacts without cracking. UV stabilisation prevents yellowing or hazing through years of summer sun, so the protector stays optically clear and the beam pattern from the headlights stays unaffected. The mould profile matches the VDJ V8 era housing shape exactly. Installation uses adhesive backing for a clean fitment that does not require drilling into the headlight housing. Removal years later is clean with no adhesive residue or damage to the housing surface.

SUITS VDJ76, VDJ78, AND VDJ79 (2007-2023)

This collection covers headlight protectors and lamp covers for the 76 Wagon, 78 Troop Carrier, and 79 single cab and dual cab built across the full VDJ V8 production run from March 2007 to the end of 2023. The same headlight guard pair fits each body style because Toyota shared the headlight housing across all four. Each listing confirms exact build date range before you order. Vehicles built before March 2007 use the HZJ-era housing, and 2024 onwards GDJ facelift vehicles use the new LED projector housing, which both need their own protector cut.
